Corrosion started as a Goth and Alternative club night at Morecambe Winter Gardens on the west coat of England to help raise funds for the restoration of the Winter Gardens Theatre. The first night on the 1st of April 2017 was a great success with small bar full to capacity. After the initial interest corrosion nights continued to attracted a good size regular audience and capacity filling audience for special events like New Years Eve.
Due to circumstances beyond our control our time helping the Winter Gardens came to an end. Instead of letting Corrosion fade into distant memory we found a new venue so Corrosion could continue. Unfortunately although the new venue was a good popular venue it was not suited to a Goth night and numbers dwindled until we moved to the Alhambra aka the Carleton, which is a much better venue for a Goth night, where numbers have steadily grown back to Winter Gardens level and continue to grow.
Now Alhambra Live, our venue has much more potential for growth and we launched our first CorrosionFest festival in March 2020 – the weekend before Lockdown.
Fast forward to 2023, and we now run CorrosionFest and Bats in the Attic festivals.
